I am working in the Hungarian National Library from 2005. I have Master degrees in the fields of LIS and History (from Hungary) and European Studies (in English from Aalborg, Denmark). I am writing a professional blog about the Nordic libraries in Hungarian for the hungarian librarian target group. I am also speaking in Danish at basic level.
I would like to take a presentation about recent Hungarian developments by the promotion of community web (web 2. tools and ideas towards the Hungarian library web sphere. We made a research group within the Library Institute in the Hungarian National Library (the address of our Hungarian language blog by summarizing all of our activities is http://blog.konyvtar.hu/k2 könyvtár means library in Hungarian). I would like to summarize our activities results and our future plans. In the following you can read a short summary about our efforts in this field as a basic content of my presentation:
By the help of some external members of the research group (a LIS university lecturer, a professional man form the market sphere that is developing SEO tools and a founder of the Hungarian Elcetronic Library ) we organized some practical workshops by various topics. The first one took a general introduction to the community web area. The second one about the web2 tools in integrated library systems and we presented the usage of some helpful community softwer tools related to the daily library work, The third one was about web 2 tools related to the digital publication and digitization fields. The fourth one hold a presentation about the hungarian e-book market. Some librarians from the LIS special collection of the National Széchényi Library wrote press rewiews in Hungarian about some relevant articles by some of professional journals published in English for helping the workshops.
We also have taken some special projects, as we are trying to implement the Danish-based Netarchive Tools into local Hungarian libraries by helping their web archiving tasks. Another project's main aim is the promotion of writing LIS articles to the Hungarian version of Wikipedia. The third project is the implementation of 23 things e-learning environment in Hungary.
