Anyone can present using Pecha Kucha. Good Pecha Kucha presentations are the ones that uncover the unexpected; unexpected talent, unexpected ideas, or the ones that present existing knowledge in a new an exiting context.
Please register for the conference, if you plan to attend.
If you want to present a Pecha Kucha at Next Library 2011 and have an idea for a topic, let us know at: jmu@aarhus.dk
In short, Pecha Kucha is a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
Pecha Kucha events consist of various presentations, where each presenter has 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds. Each presenter has just 6 minutes and 40 seconds to explain their ideas before the next presenter takes the stage. Conceived as a venue through which young designers could meet, show their work, exchange ideas, and network, the format keeps presentations concise, fast-paced and entertaining.
Pecha Kucha has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creative souls worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of conversation ("chit chat"), it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds.
To get a feel of the concept and learn more about how Pecha Kucha works, 182 Pecha Kucha presentations are able on: http://www.pecha-kucha.org/
