If I am blessed to recieve this grant, I would love for the conference to have sessions on virtual library, interact with those who already there. In addition, whilst I know that the poor reading culture is a general problem,I believe some have made considerable progress in this area. I will like for them to share how they have promoted reading culture. It is of great concern to me. I want my clients to make better use of the resources at their disposal.

If I am lucky to receive this scholarship, I would like the speakers to talk about the digital library : which are the web site that can help librarians to answer easily and rapidly to the questions of the members of the library and about the Web 2.0. Also, I would like them to talk about reception in library and document retrieval. I am call Njuekou Olive. I am working as a librarian in the Franco-Cameroonian Alliance library of Bamenda (Nord-Ouest CAMEROON).

I would certainly look forward to hearing much about OPEN Source Repository Software. My main interest is on Greenstone Digital Library Software. I don't want to hear the usual praise, I want practical experiences. Issues such as how people have handled the multi-language, multi-script language handling, data migration and standards as well as thesaurus handling. I want to know if those “in the know” think we are safe with Open Source or are we going to be left holding "motherless babies with stunted growth" when technology moves on and interests shift. We have decided to implement GSDLS like many other but sometimes I am not so sure that even without money we should be taking the risk. Chedza Molefe (Archivist) African Union Commission. molefec@africa-union.org
