New study tour: Branch Libraries and Community Centres in Aarhus

We have just announced a new study tour - it will take place tuesday afternoon. It gives you a chance to experience how the outstanding branch libraries in Aarhus work with innovation, partnerships and democracy. The tour includes a visit at Åby Library and Community Centre Gellerup.

The overall purpose for Next Library 2011 is to support and inspire public libraries’ innovation, partnerships and activities supporting democracy with the perspective to increase opportunities and build strong communities all over the world.
In order to create the most inspiring and learning environment, with optimal conditions for participatory, engaging and interactive meetings for participants, the conference welcomes participants from libraries all across the globe.

Next Library 2011 Scholarship Grantees!

 

It is our great pleasure to announce the selected grantees for the 2011 Next Library Scholarship Grant! The Scholarship Grant was made possible with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Grantees will receive support in the form of the conference fee plus a maximum total grant of EUR 2000 for travel, accommodation and other expenses.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Amar Gurung will not be attending Next Library 2011. Replacing him is Erzébet Nyitrai from Hungary.

The five scholarship grantees are:
